I spoke to a Dr who was very thorough and understanding. He prescribed me appropriate medication, provided safety netting and infomation and can me helpful advice for managing my illness. I felt listened to, respected and well cared for.
I had been in withdrawal from my morphine for 4 days by the time I rang the 111 service. The first time I rang no prescription was done for me but the second time I rang everything was handled better and a prescription was sent to the pharmacy with enough medication to get me through to talking with my own GP. They were very friendly and professional but also compassionate as well.
Called 111 to discuss symptoms and hopefully pre-book appointment at walk-in centre, was told would get a call from a doctor. Doctor called within 30 mins, and appointment was made. Arrived at walk-in centre and was seen within 10 mins. Was able to collect prescribed antibiotics from a chemist on way home.
Glad I called 111 and made appointment in advance, as there were approximately 20 people waiting at the walk-in centre, (presumably patients without pre-booked appointments) with an appropriate waiting time of 180 mins
Quick, got what I needed, efficient
Spoke on the phone to doctor re my mum , mum didn’t want to go into hospital, doctor came out within the hour , examined mum , prescription sorted out, mum and family happy that mum could stay at home
Was delt with very quickly in seeing me
I didn't feel well and I was worried about seeking help while no wasting anyone's time. The advice I received was clear and what I needed to do. I was instructed to seek medical examination and my local A+E treated me very well despite being very busy.
I have to rely on my husband and he is also my carer. Without him I would be in care.
I had an excellent service. The advanced clinical practitioner went out of her way to hand deliver my prescription to the pharmacy as the electronic prescribing was not possible.
I was in agony with pleurisy they would not even listen to my chest but told me to go to Southport or ormskirk. I was exhausted in pain from the pleurisy but they didn’t want to know decided not to go to ormskirk as I was worn out despite being told to-ring for an ambulance ! Monday morning rang surgery dr refused to see me as I had not gone to Southport hospital.
72 years of age and humiliated my daughter took me to Chorley hospital. what a difference ! Treated with dignity and made to feel that I matter. Suggest Excel and west Lancs send their staff to Chorley to learn about compassion.
